I love having goals because they help me to plan for the future.

When I was younger my goal was to be a teacher.

I worked hard to achieve my goal and went to both college and university.

As a child I wanted to be a solicitor.
De niña quería ser abogada.

When I got the grades to go to university to study law I was thrilled.

However, I quickly changed my mind on results day.

I realized that my goal had changed and I didn’t want to be a solicitor.

I realized that it was ok for goals to change through life.

I realized that my goal was to reduce inequality in the world.

I decided that my new goal was to work with children instead.

At first I felt guilty for not following through with my original plan.

It took a while for me to accept that I hadn’t failed.

Now I am really happy that I followed through with that instinct.

Now I am doing something which I really love, which is teaching.

I have other life goals outside of my teaching career too, for example I want to build a business.

Whilst I love teaching, it isn’t the only goal I have for my life.

I want to build a business so that I have greater freedom in my daily life.

At least, that’s what I hope will happen!
Al menos, ¡eso es lo que espero!

I had a business once before and it failed miserably, so I know the risks.

I’m determined to see my goals through, or die trying!
